I hope you fine folks liked my latest post that was inspired by that trendsetter, Huma, who I know from Twitter (and also as a possible robot). Several other tweeps that I know have taken part and its been really nice reading their secrets. What’s funny is that after submitting mine I kept thinking of other things to say or I was nodding my head to a confession someone else made. Anyways, today’s post is on nine loves and its going to take me a while to get it all done, not because I can’t think of anything, but because I am watching TV and I get distracted easily.
So let’s get started. This is, I’m glad to say, not a list of nine romantic loves. I love a few people with all my heart and there have only been two people that I have actually fallen in love with so it would have been hard to actually list them and talk about them and exactly what they mean to me. So, this is a post of nine things that I love in no particular order.
1. The Green Bay Packers. Yesterday I told you about how I became a Packers fan. Today I am telling you that I love the Packers. I cried when they won the Super Bowl in 1997 and when they lost to John Elway in 1998. I cried when Favre retired and when Reggie White died. There have been many times that I have jumped up and down in front of the TV when they are just doing fantastically. I am pretty loyal to them and quickly turned on Favre despite him being the franchises biggest star ever.
2. Harry Potter. I was 15 years old when I was introduced to Harry Potter. My brother had a few of the books and we went to go see the first movie. I was hooked after that and took his copy of The Sorcerer’s Stone and read it in one day. I had to get the other books after that. I devoured The Chamber of Secrets, fell completely in love with the series after reading the Prisoner of Azkaban, and had my world changed by The Goblet of Fire. Every time ABC Family has the Harry Potter movies on, I pretty much stop whatever I am doing and watch it, despite owning the DVDs/Blue Ray’s of all the movies. I’ve been to the midnight release of The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows, and have gone to all the movies during their opening days. I love Harry Potter. I wish I were a wizard and could go to Hogwarts and marry Ginny Weasley (more on that later).
3. Wilco. I was introduced to them in 2007 and I have already declared my love for Wilco in a previous post so go there and read about how much I just love Wilco and Jeff Tweedy.
4. Twitter. I used to make fun of Twitter and think it was stupid. Now, I use it every single day and it has become my favorite social platform. I really like the people that I have met on Twitter and look forward to seeing people’s tweets or just adding my thought to an already existing conversation or post a picture from my camera phone. I love Twitter and I take back everything bad that I have ever said about it.
5. My Cats. As many of you know, I live with my parents and they have four cats: Oreo, Howie, Peppers and Greta. They are pretty awesome and I just love their distinct personalities. Oreo is a loner and stays in my parents room most of the time because she gets beat up by Howie and Peppers (and now even Greta who is TINY!). Howie is the lovable one. He is also a talker and follows my mom everywhere. Peppers is my cat-son. For a while I used to tell him mean things, about how he is a a dumpster kitty (he was found in a dumpster) and how no one loved him, but we had a scare not too long ago in which he got very sick and I felt really bad that I have always been mean to him and that he is the one cat that shows me the most affection. So now we’re best buds. Great is well, the devil right at the moment. She’s a kitten and full of energy and she is all over the place. One minute she is perfectly calm and the next she is climbing walls. No, really. She tries to climb walls.

6. Redheads. I have a thing for redheads. The hair just fascinates me since it screams “I’m too wild” to me. They are just so damn sexy to me. Its why I have liked Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter series. She’s spunky and I like that spunkyness that I attribute to redhair on girls. Oh, let’s not forget their freckles. I think they are cute. Maybe I should just move to Ireland and find myself a redheaded lady to marry?

7. Bananas. They are delicious and my favorite fruit. I ate three or four a day so I am constantly buying bananas. They make for great snacks throughout the day and are a super fruit. My favorite type of bananas are those tiny little bananas. They have this delicious sweet flavor.
8. Wine. Ever since seeing the movie Sideways I have been infatuated with wine, specially Pinot Noir. I didn’t think I was going to actually like wine, but trying several of them really introduced me to the idea that wine is more than an alcoholic drink. Its more about mood than anything. In Sideways, there is a great quote from Maya about why she is into wine and I think it perfectly captures my feelings on wine:
Miles Raymond: What about you?
Maya: What about me?
Miles Raymond: I don’t know. Why are you into wine?
Maya: Oh I… I think I… I originally got in to wine through my ex-husband.
Miles Raymond: Ah.
Maya: You know, he had this big, sort of show-off cellar, you know.
Miles Raymond: Right.
Maya: But then I discovered that I had a really sharp palate.
Miles Raymond: Uh-huh.
Maya: And the more I drank, the more I liked what it made me think about.
Miles Raymond: Like what?
Maya: Like what a fraud he was.
[Miles laughs softly]
Maya: No, I- I like to think about the life of wine.
Miles Raymond: Yeah.
Maya: How it’s a living thing. I like to think about what was going on the year the grapes were growing; how the sun was shining; if it rained. I like to think about all the people who tended and picked the grapes. And if it’s an old wine, how many of them must be dead by now. I like how wine continues to evolve, like if I opened a bottle of wine today it would taste different than if I’d opened it on any other day, because a bottle of wine is actually alive. And it’s constantly evolving and gaining complexity. That is, until it peaks, like your ’61. And then it begins its steady, inevitable decline.
Miles Raymond: Hmm.
Maya: And it tastes so fucking good.
9. Talking with friends over drinks. Its what I am about to do in a few minutes to be honest with you. I am at my best and happiest when I go out with friends and we share good drinks and even better conversation with each other. I love to laugh and make someone else laugh. I love how conversation can turn from ridiculous to serious in just a matter of minutes with my friends and then back again to silly things to talk about. They keep me sane.
Unlike my friend Mariel, I found this hard to do. Its because there are so many things that I love that it was hard to think of just nine! I could have talked about my love for argyle or how I love winter clothing and how they make me look or that I just love to wear a blazer when I go out. Too many choices.

Solid concurrence with Harry Potter and Twitter.
I like bananas, but they make my throat itch because I’m allergic to them and I haven’t yet defeated that allergy (see my 9 loves post for more information).
I like wine a lot but I don’t think I love wine. I prefer beer. I am somewhat of a beer snob. I would like to be a wine snob but it seems like it takes a lot of time. I also am about to start as an apprentice scotch snob under the tutelage of Mariel and JoshueTree.
I’m a beer snob too, but I decided not to list both beer and wine because that would just make me seem like an alcoholic, haha. :-/ Good luck on your Scotch journey! It is a very delicious journey
You mean you’re not an alcoholic?
Alcoholics go to meetings.
